My Story

I have always loved sport and training, as a young athlete with athletics, hockey and football. At university I was finally able to action my love for boxing by setting up the boxing club with two friends and later sparring partners. The pursuit to excel brought challenges to my body and I experienced debilitating injuries. I know first-hand the pain and angst of not being able to do the things you want to do.

I intimately understand the frustration of being unable to do the things you love and the pain that hinders your every move.

My personal experience ignited a mission within me, to find a way to regain my freedom and confidence in movement, to reconnect with the sport I love. I embarked on a quest that involved multiple therapists and treatments. While progress was made, I consistently heard discouraging advice to give up boxing. However, fate intervened, and I had the fortune of meeting one of my mentors, who miraculously eliminated my boxing-related pain within minutes, without even touching the site of my injury. It was a revelation, and the overwhelming joy and tears that followed as I threw punches without hesitation or pain sparked the pursuit of trying to understand human movement.

I have reconciled that this is a lifelong pursuit. The more I learn, the more I realise how much there still is to comprehend. What I do know is that we are amazing at healing, if we can create the right environment and provide the resources the body needs, the system can get on with its job of healing itself. I am merely a facilitator in the process.

I have been privileged to work with a wide range of clients through the years, firstly in fitness where I became the go-to trainer for focused training that got long-term results without breaking down bodies. Later, in a clinical setting alongside amazing practitioners all helping to get people back to what they love to do.

And now in The Movement Bank™ Studio, a unique setting that provides a calm, private and safe place for treatment and training.

Most of us have experienced pain or can relate to avoiding certain activities, like running, due to discomfort in our bodies. But it doesn't have to be this way. The Movement Bank™ was born out of a desire to show you that there is a different path, an approach that prioritises your well-being and guides you toward pain-free confident movement.

Education and Training

These are some of the key education bodies I have personally trained in and continue to pursue further education with.

Gray Institute

The Gray Institute was my transformative gateway into the realm of understanding human movement at a profound level. It required a significant commitment in every aspect of my life, and it proved to be a life-changing experience. As the epitome of functional human movement education, the Gray Institute stands at the forefront of the field. I have proudly completed both 10-month long mentorship programs, GIFT (Gray Institute for Functional Transformation) and PCM (Play Coach Mate), in the United States. Additionally, I have pursued further professional development through continuing education with CAFS (Certification in Applied Functional Science), 3DMAPS (Three Dimensional Movement Analysis and Performance System), and NG360 (Nike Golf 360).

Foot Mobilisation Techniques

I had a strong focus on foot function along my biomechanics journey, realising its importance as the foundation of human support. It amazed me how little attention we gave to this vital aspect. This led me to Foot Mobilisation Techniques (FMT) taught by Ted Jedynak. Learning all three levels of FMT directly from Ted has been instrumental in expanding my knowledge and application with clients, offering valuable insights and strategies to improve foot function and enhance overall body performance.

Z-Health

Z-Health served as my initial exploration into the world of movement neurology, marking a pivotal moment in my professional journey. It was a profound deep dive that spanned several years of dedicated education, and my learning with Z-Health continues to this day. Under the guidance of Dr. Cobb and the esteemed Z-Health faculty, I have honed my skills in working with more complex conditions and have achieved lasting and profound results for the individuals I have the privilege of working with. Their expertise and teachings have been instrumental in my ongoing development as a practitioner.

AMN - Applied Movement Neurology

Further exploration of movement neurology led me to AMN (Applied Movement Neurology), where I had the privilege of working and training directly with the brilliant minds of Dave Fleming and Luke Sherrell. AMN is a methodology that places a strong emphasis on brain-based corrective exercise, with a particular focus on gymnastics. AMN techniques look to calibrate faulty electrical charges within the body's various systems, promoting improved movement patterns and enhanced nervous system function.

Anatomy In Motion

Anatomy in Motion (AiM), led by Gary Ward and his team, simplifies complex concepts and provides practical strategies for immediate application. Their emphasis on understanding the whole system, particularly foot function's impact on movement, has been invaluable in refining my education and enhancing my practice

TRX

My introduction to the TRX suspension training system marked a pivotal moment in my fitness journey. From the first time I laid hands on it, I was captivated by its functional approach to training and movement. Recognizing the immense value it brought to my own practice, I made the decision to become involved with TRX and share its benefits with others.

Over the course of nearly a decade, I had the privilege of being an integral part of TRX's educational journey here in the UK. I had the opportunity to deliver various courses, sharing my knowledge and passion for TRX with countless individuals. It has remained a cornerstone of both my personal and clients' movement practices, thanks to its unrivaled convenience and effectiveness.

Procedos

Platform9, the innovative training tool developed by my talented friend and colleague Seth Ronland, is something I wish I had created myself. Within the Procedos framework, it serves as a remarkable communication tool for enhancing movement capabilities. Integrating Platform9 into my daily practice has become essential, as it empowers both myself and my clients to achieve optimal functional movement. Its unique features and effectiveness make it a valuable asset in our pursuit of movement excellence.

MovNat

MovNat allowed me to add structure to what I was naturally drawn to from a movement perspective. It provided a framework that aligned with my innate inclination towards natural movement. MovNat's focus on restoring vitality and exploring the full spectrum of human capabilities resonated with me deeply. By incorporating natural movement principles, it brought a new dimension to my training, going beyond the traditional gym-based focus. MovNat emphasized movement quality, functional strength, and adaptability, allowing me to explore a wide range of movements in various environments. It added a natural progression and variation to my training, unlocking new levels of physical freedom and potential.

P-DTR

P-DTR, developed by Dr. Jose Palomar, is a unique neurological therapy that addresses imbalances and dysfunction in the central nervous system. It emphasizes sensory nerve endings and uses a comprehensive assessment process. P-DTR focuses on the body's communication system and can address both software and hardware issues. It has been a game changer in my practice and remains an integral part of my ongoing study and practice.

Next Level Neuro

Next Level Neuro, led by Kathy Mauck and Matt Bush, provides world-class education and support for incorporating neurology into individual sessions and business practices. Their expertise and guidance have been instrumental in my journey, supporting my professional growth.
